On March 30, 2010 we found out we were having a little girl. We were so excited to welcome another princess to our family. When we left the doctor visit he recommended we get another ultrasound since our little girl had been very shy during the first one. On April 1, 2010 we met with another ultrasound tech. During the second ultrasound we were told that our little girl had several medical problems and it was recommended that we do an Amino to determine what her conditions were. We left the second ultrasound completely devastated. According to the doctor our little girl had a mass on the back of her head causing her brain to be underdeveloped. Her heart was deformed and she would need a heart transplant or have reconstructive heart surgery. Our little girl’s feet and right kidney were deformed and her bone structure was two weeks behind. They told us our baby would probably not make it to birth.
April 4, 2010 the genetic specialist called with the test results of the amino. Our little angel had 45x or better known as Turner’s syndrome. They said that these types of pregnancy don’t usually make it to a live birth and that she had a 5% chance of making it to her August 29th due date.
We decided to name her Lilly Grace. Lilly means pure and innocent. We are so grateful for everyday we get to feel Lilly move. We understand that her time here on earth may be limited and feel blessed to be trusted with such a precious spirit.
Kim, I am so sorry to hear about sweet Lilly. My prayers are with you during this terrible time.
ReplyDeleteKim & Josh,
ReplyDeleteYou will never be alone, your entire family will be with you, but only in a supporting role, as the Savior will be carrying you during this challenging time.
We feel so blessed to have Lilly come to us, regardless of the conditions. I know that we will all be blessed because of what we learn from her.
Please never forget that your Father in Heaven knows you and loves you, that his Son is with you and that the Spirit will guide you; if only you will keep the commandments.
Thank you for brining this wonderful little spirit into our lives. We love you.
